Meridian Speciality Packaging, a UK-based company, not only offers bespoke packaging solutions to clients but also specializes in creating and customizing catalog packaging for small confectionery manufacturers across the country. Their latest offering, the Heart Duo box set, was designed with the intention of creating a traditionally styled heart shape for Meridian's new spring season catalog while also breaking the constraints of paper packaging in portraying curved forms.
To achieve the perfect heart shape, the packaging was created by connecting two identical halves. Each half is designed as a triangular prism with a semicircular ending that doubles as a lid for opening the package. This lid can be positioned either inside, resulting in a flawless heart silhouette or outside by utilizing a small latch on the lid flap. These halves are foldable and can be secured without glue thanks to a simple cut key and latch mechanism located at the back of the box. The two halves can easily be connected and detached using two small asymmetrical keys that perfectly fit into the latch-shaped openings on the opposite edge of the other half.
The Heart Duo box set provides a versatile packaging solution tailored for small, portable food items like candies or snacks. Each heart-shaped package can hold up to 160g of caramels or 250g of chocolate dragees comfortably. Designed with adaptability in mind, it offers customers numerous choices in terms of color, material, personalization, and configuration to ensure that each packaging meets their unique requirements. Although these packages are delivered unfolded, they are easy to assemble and can be done by anyone. To preserve the quality of food products, it is essential to use a protective barrier such as grease-proof paper or a PE bag.
By utilizing three different types of paper - 300gsm Sirio Pearl Red Fever, 405mic Bright Gold FBB, and 300gsm White Kastkote - the Heart Duo box set boasts six distinct heart color combinations. Moreover, Meridian's customization options, including printing, embossing, and foil stamping, expand the possibilities for both Valentine's Day and year-round packaging designs.
Not only is the Heart Duo a romantic design, but it also boasts practicality. Each heart half can be easily detached and reconnected, allowing for separate snacking before joining back together to form a single heart shape.
